Whole Type
Whole Type Mentaiko allows you to enjoy the original taste and texture of Alaskan pollack roe. This is Kanefuku’s premium mentaiko product and is also popular as a gift. Whole Type Mentaiko comes in three lengths: 2L, L, and Kireko (cut pieces). It is available in two flavors: Spicy and Non-Spicy (Tarako).
Mash Type
Easy-to-use Mash Type Mentaiko. Produced by removing the thin membrane and soaking the roe in a curing liquid, giving it a deeper, more intense taste. The convenience of this product makes it highly popular. Mash Type Mentaiko is also available in Natural flavor, which contains no colorings or preservatives.
Sauce Type
Sauce Type Mentaiko has a unique flavor and texture achieved by blending together two types of mentaiko, raw and grilled. Use as a topping for pasta or udon noodles to create authentic mentaiko dishes.
How to Use Mentaiko
Allow the mentaiko to thaw just enough to divide it up into portions, then wrap the portions in plastic wrap and freeze.
To get the best taste from your mentaiko, thaw slowly in the refrigerator.
